Resource Management of Western New York, Inc. (RMI) has extensive experience in providing workforce development training for area businesses and industries specializing in safety and health, environmental, professional development and computer training programs.  Since its inception in 2009, RMI has conducted over 23,000 hours of workforce training to over 40,000 incumbent workers for more than 250 organizations located throughout Western New York.  Our training programs bring today's workplace issues directly into the classroom with relevant examples to today’s workplace. Past and present partnerships with regional community colleges (Finger Lakes Community College, Genesee Community College, Jamestown Community College, Niagara County Community College) have enabled RMI to service organizations located throughout twelve counties.  RMI is the #1 Preferred Safety Training Vendor for CSEA servicing their membership located throughout all of New York State. Additionally, RMI works on a direct contract basis with clients (both large and small) helping them with their workforce training needs and grant procurement of training funding in reducing training costs.


RMI training is available 365 days per year, 24 hours per day.  OSHA-compliant training is presented to employees from a wide assortment of industries ranging from manufacturing, to financial services, to healthcare, and beyond. Customized training solutions are conveniently scheduled for clients and are delivered on-site at their place of business, at regional community college campus centers, as online training programs or as live virtual training.


An extensive menu of classes are targeted at helping organizations to improve their safety awareness, reduce the number of workplace accidents and improve productivity and performance.   Over 65 safety, health and environmental classes are part of the training menu.  Additionally, training programs are offered in the following areas:  Computer Skills, Leadership & Management Skills, Executive, Supervisory, First-Line, Specialty Individual Job Skills, Customer Service, Specialty Job Skills, and Mechatronic Technology.  


RMI utilizes the skills of twelve qualified trainers with safety training experience spanning over 35 years consisting of Certified Safety Professionals, Certified Industrial Hygienists, Qualified Safety Trainers, Expert Professional Development and Computer Trainers. Their combined expertise covers many disciplines making it possible for RMI to have established a formidable bank of overall workforce development training knowledge.  They are well-versed in conducting effective classes geared toward the adult learner.  


Barbara Michel (RMI president) has over 23 years of workforce development program development/coordination and successful grant procurement & administration for organizations throughout New York State. To date she has successfully administered over $5.2M in grant funding from the Department of Labor Hazard Abatement Board, Department of Education, SUNY Workforce Development, WNY Works, Empire State Development Corporation, Workforce Investment Board, Empire State Skills Training Grant, and STRAP funding.  She holds an MBA degree in Business Administration and is an active member of the Buffalo-Niagara American Society of Safety Professionals.
